Valencia, 2020, Doha, etc.

04.02.2020

First week of Valencia started of amazing! All horses jumped super and we had so many top placings. Bellona jumped super for 3 days finishing 2nd, 3rd and 12th in the 7yo classes. Such a little star and definitely one to watch for the future <3 Cornet's Fire also jumped amazing with 4 clear rounds in the 6yo classes. So much love for this guy and excited for the rest of the season. Darco For Fun is a new guy on our team. Super cute guy who will definitely turn into a lovely horse over the next coming months. Also Haloubet Hitchcock is a new horse in the stable. He has all the experience with GCT shows, Aachen etc. Very excited to have him on our team. He already started with some good rounds in Valencia and a 4th place in the 1.40 the last day of the first week. Cleo never disappoints us, neither did he last week. He jumped 4 rounds clear with the highlight of being double clear in Saturdays 1.40 JO class and finishing on 8th place! Can't wait to take this guy to the big shows <3 Luigi jumped a very nice clear round in Thursdays 1.40 class and an unlucky rail in Fridays 1.45 LR class. He jumped his first GP on Sunday with a few mistakes but in general a promising round. So hopefully he will be one for the bigger classes and shows. And then we come to my all time favorit Diva <3 The love I have for this horse is the biggest. She got a well deserved break after La Coruna, since she had a long season with bigger classes and shows then what we could have ever imagined. In Valencia she jumped an easy 1.30 on Thursday and a nice round in the 1.40 on Saturday. On Sunday she did the 2* GP like the star she is! We finished on 4th place after a nice double clear with only 12 clears in the first round out of 78 riders.

Now I have been home a few days to ride the horses here and tomorrow I fly back down to Valencia for this weeks 3* show.

Also trying to organize everything for Doha in a few weeks. We got the FEI Wildcards for both CHI Al Shaqab 5* and GCT Al Shaqab 5* in the end of February and beginning of March. I'm so excited to ride my first Global Champions Tour show and specially on a venue like Al Shaqab! I have been riding the 3* show there a few years back but could never dream that I would, a few years later, do my first GCT there! It's a lot of organizing with bloodtests, flights, vaccinations, etc. But thankfully Olivia is very good at helping me with everything, which takes a big load of my shoulders.

To have a good team around you means everything and without them it wouldn't be possible to do what I do. I'm so grateful to all of them and to all the effort they put in. I have worked both as a groom and as a rider so I definitely know how hard this work is. The people at home are just as important as the people at the show.

The last couple of weeks have been dark in many ways.. Young people that choose to take their lives but also young people that have accidents that ends their lives. It makes you stop and think how fortunate we are to work with what we love everyday. It makes you stop and think about what you have and what you could lose. I think we all have our shared part of loss, hard parts and sorrows in life, some more than others. But at the end of the day we should all be happy to be here. Live every day, ask for help when you need, appreciate your loved ones, listen to the ones that needs our help.. Life is too short not to care, not to love and not to be there for the people who need you the most. So take that extra time to be there for someone that is struggling or make that call to a long lost friend. You never know what they are going through or when they need you..<3

Take care
