Winter, Sentower, Lier, Samorin, new horses..
Hi everyone:)
So it's been a while ago since my latest update so i thought it was about time. Sitting watching the World Cup from Stuttgart and having an easy Sunday. The horses and riders at this level is always fantastic to watch and it gives you so much inspiration.
It has been a few intense weeks with both national and international shows. Horses have been doing great with good placings and results. Also a few horses left us for new homes and a few new ones arrived. Jerizza 4yo Zirrocco Blue left for Kuwait, Ferani left for Qatar, etc. I'm excited for the new ones as well, 9yo Vinze by. Guidam what is already jumping at the 1.45 level, 7yo Spring doing national 1.40 and 5yo Tigi what is a really promising young horse. Looking forward to working with these new horses:)
I had a meeting with my mental coach Annette Paterakis this week and it was very helping as always. We talked a lot about the pressure to sell and to deliver good results. How it's important to ride and plan for every horse like they will stay with you forever, for you to do the best possible results in the ring. But also from a dealers perspective how you have to work to sell the horses. It's two very different roles and sometimes it's hard to separate them. I love all my horses and it is great to see them finding new homes but also sometimes heartbreaking to see your favourites go. But that's the way of this business and i am very fortunate to work with something i love.
So back to the shows. Sentower a few weeks back was a great show for us. Diva jumped super and finished 4th in the 1.45 LR class out of 99 riders and 28 in the jump off. Indiana did her first GP with one unlucky fault but very happy to also have her up at this level performing well. Quincia was placed in the 7yo final and also did a good job in the other classes.
To Lier i brought Diva, Indiana, Mystique and Cartouche with me. Cartouche jumped every day clear like the little star she is. Mystique jumped 2 super clear rounds. Diva and Indiana was also very good. Diva had a unlucky fault in the GP but jumped great. Indiana was placed in the medium final the last day.
Last week i did my first 4* show in Samorin. What an amazing facility and show, so happy to have the chance to ride there. I brought with me Diva and Indiana for the 4* and Mystique for the 2*. It was a big step up for both me and the horses but overall we did some good result and gained so much experience. I got some great help and valuable tips from Katharina Offel. Hoping we get the chance to do one of these shows soon again:) Mystique jumped 2 classes and was clear in both. Finishing off in the medium final Jump Off class on a 3rd place. Indiana jumped a 1.45 the first day being clear and placed. 2nd day she did her first big 1.50 class. We had 2 small mistakes but she jumped it easy and i was very happy with her. Last day she did the 1.45 LR accumulator with a small touch on the 2nd last fence what kept us from a good placing. Diva started up with a super round in the 1.50 the first day with a small fault coming out from the triple combination. On Sunday we did our first 1.60 GP which was a big and difficult class. Diva was jumping good but we lost a little bit our rhythm and got some early mistakes in the class. I decided to retire and save her for another day. It was a good experience for us thou and i definitely know what to work on for next time. When the fences gets this big and the tracks so technical you really need to have it all 100% under control. I feel for sure we can do this level but we need to work on all these small details to be able to do it better. I hope i will get the chance to do many more classes like this so i can improve both my riding and the horses.
This week was a busy week at home with some training with the new horses and young horse show in De Warre on Friday. Me and Johanna brought 10 horses between 4-6 years old and they all jumped clear:) Johanna did a good job with the two 4yos, Bibty(Careful) and Unikum(Untouchable), and she also jumped a nice clear round with 5yo Chakilly(Chacco Blue). I rode 4yo Edina(Elvis ter Putter) for the first time, such a easy and nice little horse. In the 5yo class i jumped Bellini(Balou du Rouet), Bellona(Bonaparte Z), Cadanza(My Lord Carthago) and Socrates(Stakkato), they all jumped very nice clear rounds. 6Yo Gigi and Cleo did a 1.25 in the morning and they also did two good clear rounds.
Next week starts up with clients on some different horses and then also some training with the new ones. In the weekend we go to CSI2* Lier with one group, always a nice show to go to.
I will put up some new videos on our youtube channel so please have a look there!
Hope you all have a nice Sunday!
Xx
